Today we will reveal a few seemingly insignificant points that arise during installation, which, nevertheless, sometimes play an important role in the subsequent operation of roller blinds.

One of these points concerns side slots, which in some cases, as in the photo with yellow curtains, cannot be avoided (if it is supposed to be fastened only to the window sashes).

Curtains "day-night" or - as they are otherwise called - "zebra" curtains, consist of two parts striped fabrics. The bands can be superimposed on each other, thereby providing the mode - "day". This unique property is the main advantage of these curtains and buyers mainly purchase such curtains because of it. But, as it usually happens, all pluses have minuses, which they try not to talk about, but it’s worth keeping in mind. In this case, as we see in the photo, such curtains have a more noticeable side clearance than conventional roller blinds. It is obtained due to the design features of such curtains and is practically unavoidable if your curtains are supposed to be mounted directly on the window sashes. (When mounted on a window opening, there will be no such disadvantage).

It should also be borne in mind that due to the different heights of the window openings between the blind and opening window sashes, with the same height of day-night curtains, gaps can also form at the bottom, between the fabric and the bottom bar.

This is only observed when installing curtains in one line, which is actually more preferable from an aesthetic point of view than installation in accordance with the "glazing beads" of the sashes.

In general - installation in one line, this is the main rule when fastening curtains to windows. It looks especially impressive on balconies, where there are many shutters on the windows.

If the windows consist only of opening sashes, such an installation will be the only correct and correct one. In this case, of course, day-night curtains will look better than regular roller blinds.

Let's consider another frequently encountered moment when installing curtains.

Frequently, a window consists of many sashes of various sizes. If there are small blind doors among them, it is preferable to close them with the so-called false curtains. It is cost-effective and, moreover, it is more convenient to remove them for washing windows, because they are mounted mainly on buttons or latches with magnets.

Such curtains can also be mounted on large blind doors if frequent opening of curtains is not expected in the future.

There is one more feature of "day-night" curtains, which appears only in the presence of certain lighting in the room. As we can see in the photo, the shadow from the curtains falls unevenly, creating the illusion of vertical twisting of the curtain fabric. It occurs only in the initial period of operation of the curtains. This is due to the fact that initially the fabric in large rolls delivered from the manufacturer is twisted along the strips. The master maker cuts off the necessary piece of fabric, unfolds it across and glues it to the shaft. When unwinding the fabric, a memory effect occurs. The fabric is twisted either inward or outward. This effect usually disappears after another week and is not a defect or a case of complaint.
